General Safety Information: Do not use any essential oils or natural ingredients internally without consultation from a qualified professional. Do not apply undiluted essential oils, absolutes, CO2s or other concentrated essences directly onto the skin. All those with the following conditions should exercise caution when choosing plant oils: asthmatic, pregnant, atopic, epileptic, eczema, psoriasis or any other medical problem. Use natural ingredients only under the proper guidance of your doctor. A skin patch test should be conducted prior to using new products. If you apply phototoxic essential oils onto the surface of your skin do not expose your skin to the sunlight, ultra-violet rays or to tanning lights.

The words: toxic and toxicology are derived from the Greek word toxicon - meaning poison for arrows. In those days the only source of poison was from plants (botanicals) grown locally. Consider this: arsenic is naturally occuring. Botanicals contain a wealth of complex chemical substances, some inert but many with wide ranging biological effect.

Some plants, nettle for instance, can be hazardous in their natural state but not the extract. Others are beneficial if applied to the skin but toxic if taken orally and some plants (from the Umbelliferae and citrus families) contain substances which are phototoxic when exposed to sunlight.

Essential Oil of Expressed Bergamot and Rue are considered the most phototoxic and should be avoided. Phototoxic oils can cause color change and severe burning to the skin. Other moderately phototoxic essential oils include: cumin, lemon, lime, grapefruit, bitter orange and verbena. Mildly phototoxic sessential oils include: mandarin orange, petitgrain, tangerine, angelica root, caraway, cassia, cinnamon bark, ginger, patchouli and parsley leaf.

Contrary to popular belief, natural substances can be responsible for adverse health reactions. Knowledge is the key. Natural substances should always be used in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations.

The following oils are dangerous and should not be used in skin care by all: alant root, bay, bitter almond, benzoin, birch, expressed bergamot(note: F.C.F. Bergamot has had the phototoxic chemical removed so it is safe for skin application), boldo, cade, calamus, camphor, cassia, cinnamon bark, citronella, colophony, costus, croton, damiana, fennel, fig leaf, horseradish, mustard, opopanax, parsley, peru balsam, rue, sassafras, savin, tagetes, tansy, tolu, tonka, terebinth, turpentine(unrectified), valerian, verbena, yarrow, wintergreen and wormseed.

People who have spice allergies, skin allergies, damaged skin, sensitive skin or perfume sensitivity should use extra caution by using a patch test or avoiding use of the following oils: aniseed, clove, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, juniper berry, black pepper, pimento, pepperment, sage, savoury, spearmint, tea tree and thyme.

Suggested Usage Schedule
All of our products have been tested to ensure a one year shelf life. However, our preparations are best when used within six months of purchase. Also it is a good idea to refrigerate the products to extend their lifespan.

Climate Control

These products should not be exposed to extreme heat, cold or frequent temperature changes. Store them in a cool dry place. It is best to not store the products in the bathroom because they are usually subject to widely varying temperature and humidity levels.

After Opening

Close the lid on on all bottles and jars. Exposure to air will oxidize the ingredients shortening the lifespan considerably.

Product Consistency

Because we only use natural ingedients and do not use artificial colorants, you may notice color and consistency variations. Note however, these variations do not effect the efficacy of the products.

Apricot Kernel Oil: a light textured oil, protects, moisturizes, nourishes & softens the skin. It is rich in vitamins A & B and essential fatty acids. The oil is easily absorbed and can be used by all skin types

Clary-Sage Essential Oil Organic: Aroma: sweet, tea-like, herbaceous, musky, nutty, balsamic, tabacco-like, Properties: antidepressant, aphrodisiac, antispasmodic, astringent, sedative, Possible Uses: perfumery, skin care, pms, menopause, anxiety, stress. Caution: In large quantities clary-sage affects the ability to concentrate. It is best to not use prior to operating a car or other machinery or drinking alcohol. Avoid use if pregnant.

Coconut Oil Certified Organic Virgin: Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is extracted from fresh organic coconuts. The extraction process is traditional and does not involve solvents, refining, bleaching or deodorizing. Contains a high level of vitamin E, antioxidant properties which prevent free radical damage. Monoi Oil: Monoi De Tahiti is an exotic infused oil produced in Tahiti. The Tiare or Gardenia flower petels are infused in coconut oil over the course of 15 days. The oil is then filtered. Neem Oil Organic: thick oil obtained from the neem seed kernels. It is rich in fatty acids such as oleic, stearic, palmitic, linoleic and others. Olive Oil Certified Organic Extra Virgin:Extra Virgin Olive oil is obtained from the first pressing of the olives with an acidity level of no higher than 1%. Red Tea aka Rooibos Tea Certified Organic (Pronounced Roy-Boss): is harvested from a shrubby legume native to the high mountains of South Africa. It is known as Red Tea because as the plant ripens the leaves develop a reddish brown color. The aroma is subtle sweet apricot vanilla. Shea Butter: a wax in semi-solid form which has the consistency of cookie dough. It is extracted from the nuts of the Shea Nut tree. Shea butter has a high concentration of non-saponifiable fatty acids which gives it the ability to moisturize and retain the elasticity of the skin. High in vitamin E and has a natural Sun Protection Factor. Shea butter is thought to slow skin cellular degeneration

Soapnut Powder:Ground fruit from the Soap Nut Tree. Contains a high level of saponins. Antibacterial mild foaming agent, cleanser, exfoliant. Soapnut Powder is used to cleanse hair, skin and laundry. Tiare Tiare is a type of Gardenia Flower native to Tahiti. It grows in the Pacific Regions and blossoms all year long. The gardenia's exotic yet delicate fragrance fills the air all throughout French Polynesia. The small 3-foot tall bushes grow best on soils of coral origin. The Tiare Gardenia flowers are deeply rooted in the cultural life of the Polynesians. The tourists receive a lei created for them on their arrival, and the Vahines use them to enhance their beauty everyday. Polynesian's also use them as a natural air freshener by simply placing the closed blossoms in a dish of water and then making lei's out of them as the buds open. Of all the Tahitian flowers the one used most for traditional medicine is the Tiare Gardenia. Yet the moisturizing properties that come from using Tiare Gardenia flowers in the making of MONOI oil are it's most remarkable and famous application.
